Socially Sensitive Policies in the context of Structural Adjustment: a Training Manual

UN/UNDP

Published by:
Development Planning Unit

Publisher town:
London

Year:
1994

THIS MANUAL CAN be used in short courses, workshops or seminars to train policy makers and planners on how to assess the social impact of structural adjustment programmes and how to incorporate social concerns into general policy-making. It is relevant to practically all sectors and helps to clarify terms and concepts associated with structural adjustment - and thus serves as a general resource document as well as a manual. The training modules move from evaluating existing policies (with particular attention paid to the policy formulation process and impact analysis) to forming action plans for targeted social policy. Teachers of development studies will also be able to pick and combine modules of their choice.
