This summary reflects the substantive presentations and discussions of a workshop, “From Urban Exclusion to Inclusive Urbanisation”, held from 28 to 30 October 2015 in London. The workshop was hosted by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and the Institute for Development Studies (IDS). The contents of this summary are meant to encompass the diversity of issues addressed: politics, laws and planning; urbanization and inclusive economies; services for excluded populations; data for inclusive urbanization; environment and risk reduction; and violence. Also discussed are convergence on key points and implications for future actions.
