There is a web-based database with details, abstracts and keywords for all papers that have been published in Environment and Urbanization. For all papers since 1989, there are also the web addresses of the full text of the papers.

This database allows users to search for papers by topic, author(s), nation, city or keyword. It includes details of all other urban publications produced by the International Institute for Environment and Development – and details of publications that have been reviewed in Environment and Urbanization's Book Notes section in recent years. The aim is to provide users with an easily usable and searchable database on urban publications, which includes descriptions or abstracts of each publication and details of how it can be obtained. As with Environment and Urbanization, there will be a deliberate bias towards urban issues in Africa, Asia and Latin America, and towards publications produced by research groups and NGOs from these regions. Over time, we hope to expand the coverage of this database to include abstracts from papers in other journals.
